PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir expressed his disappointment over the low attendance figures for the 2025 ASEAN Cup U-23 opening match — only 2,743 spectators were present at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium.

Indonesia U-23, coached by Gerald Vanenburg, cruised to a dominant 8–0 win over Brunei Darussalam. Jens Raven stole the spotlight with a double hat-trick, while Arkhan Fikri and Rayhan Hannan added one goal each.

“I hope fans can support the U-23 national team in person just like they do for the senior team,” said Erick Thohir, who also serves as Minister of State-Owned Enterprises.
