PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir emphasized the importance of unity among Indonesian national team officials as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The Garuda squad, currently under the guidance of Patrick Kluivert, will face tough challenges against China and Japan in June during the third round of the 2026 World Cup Asian Zone Qualifiers.

Indonesia, currently holding the fourth position, still maintains a chance to advance to the next round despite facing intense competition from Australia, who holds second place.

“I also want us to self-reflect, as team management standardization depends on the team’s position,” stated Erick Thohir.

The PSSI Chairman highlighted the need for evaluation and the improvement of standards, as this golden opportunity must not be wasted by the Indonesian national team.
