Erick Thohir announces two foreign clubs in Piala Presiden 2025

PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir announced a new format for Piala Presiden 2025 — the tournament will feature two foreign clubs for the first time.

Six clubs will compete in this pre-season tournament, including Oxford United from England and Port FC from Thailand — joining Persib Bandung, Arema FC, Dewa United, and Indonesia All Stars.

The competition will begin on July 6, 2025, at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta — before continuing at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium. This format differs from previous editions that only featured Liga 1 clubs.

The presence of foreign clubs opens opportunities for national team players Ole Romeny and Marselino Ferdinan to appear in this prestigious tournament.
