Erick Thohir announces six teams for 2025 President’s Cup, Persija not included

Erick Thohir as PSSI Chairman announced six participants who will compete in the 2025 President’s Cup — the tournament will feature two foreign clubs and four domestic teams.

The announcement was made during a press conference at Menara Danareksa, Jakarta, attended by key PSSI officials including 2025 President’s Cup Steering Committee Chairman Maruarar Sirait and PT LIB Managing Director Ferry Paulus.

The six participating teams:

• Oxford United (England)
• Port FC (Thailand)
• Persib Bandung
• Arema FC
• Dewa United
• Indonesia All Stars

Erick Thohir explained that the selection of Oxford United and Port FC was based on considerations for developing the Indonesian National Team — both clubs have national team key players such as Asnawi Mangkualam at Port FC, and Ole Romeny and Marselino Ferdinan at Oxford United.
