The Football Association (FA) has announced that coach Arjan Veurink — assistant coach of the England women’s national team — will leave his position after Euro 2025 to become head coach of the Netherlands.

Veurink has served as Sarina Wiegman’s assistant for the past four years with England — a collaboration that began when they worked together with the Netherlands national team from 2017 to 2021.

An FA spokesperson confirmed that Veurink remains fully focused on the UEFA Women’s Nations League campaign and upcoming summer tournament.

“This is not only a great challenge and a wonderful new adventure, but it also feels like a logical next step in my career,” Veurink told KNVB.

Throughout his career, Veurink has achieved numerous accolades including:

  • Two European Championships
  • Two Arnold Clark Cups
  • 2023 Finalissima
  • Two World Cup runner-up finishes

Veurink will succeed Andries Jonker who has led the Netherlands national team since 2022.
