Emma Raducanu is set to team up with fellow young star Carlos Alcaraz at this year’s US Open, held August 19-20 on Arthur Ashe and Louis Armstrong Stadiums.

Alcaraz shared the news after winning his opening match at Queen’s Club, praising Raducanu as an “ideal partner” for the event. The Spanish player highlighted their strong chemistry, noting their long friendship and good off-court relationship.

Raducanu and Alcaraz will join other top stars at the US Open, including world number ones Jannik Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka, Novak Djokovic, and Iga Świątek. The event’s mixed-gender team format has been praised for successfully refreshed tennis competition by featuring men and women players together on court.

This year’s format updates include:

  • Best-of-four-game sets until the final.

  • No-ad scoring (deciding point at deuce).

  • A match tiebreak instead of a third set.

  • Players choosing partners based on friendship, nationality, or off-court connections.
