According to Bolasport.com, Palermo goalkeeper Emil Audero now has an opportunity to make his debut for the Indonesian national team after officially becoming a citizen several weeks ago.

The keeper with Mataram heritage hasn’t received playing time in the recent matches against Australia and Bahrain—the starting position remained with Maarten Paes.

The situation changed when Paes received a yellow card in the 72nd minute against Bahrain. This yellow card means the Nijmegen-born goalkeeper must miss the upcoming match against China due to card accumulation.

With Paes suspended, Audero is now the leading candidate to start against China, offering him a chance to showcase his abilities on the international stage. His experience playing in Serie B with Palermo could be a valuable asset as Indonesia aims for a strong performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
