Eliano Reijnders absent from Indonesia national team due to family matters

Eliano Reijnders – Indonesia national team’s right-back – spent his time away from national duty attending his brother’s unveiling ceremony at Manchester City.

The 24-year-old player’s absence from two World Cup 2026 qualification matches – against China and Japan – led coach Patrick Kluivert to give an opportunity to Yakob Sayuri from Malut United.

Sayuri earned a starting position against China – while in the match against Japan he came on as a substitute for Kevin Diks.

Patrick Kluivert revealed that Reijnders’ absence was due to family matters – the player is awaiting the birth of his second child.
