Eight Indonesian representatives face tough challenge in Japan Open 2025 round of 16

Eight remaining Indonesian representatives will face tough challenges in the round of 16 at Japan Open 2025 — a Super 750 level tournament to be held at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium on Thursday (17/7).

Six Indonesian players must face seeded opponents — a challenging situation as all Indonesian representatives are unseeded.

Indonesia’s seeded players were eliminated in the first round, including Jonatan Christie in men’s singles and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in women’s singles. Men’s doubles pairs Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani and Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana also failed to advance.

Mixed doubles pair Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja will open Indonesia’s campaign in the round of 16 starting at 07:00 WIB.
