Edwards Family Increases Columbus Crew Ownership to 30 Percent

According to Sportico, the Edwards family has purchased an additional 10 percent stake in Columbus Crew from Haslam Sports Group at a club valuation of 900 million dollars.

With this latest acquisition, the Edwards family’s total ownership in the MLS champions has increased to 30 percent — while Haslam Sports Group, led by Jimmy and Dee Haslam, maintains majority control with 70 percent stake.

Columbus Crew is enjoying a period of success — claiming both MLS Cup and Leagues Cup titles, along with consistently selling out Lower.com Field which was built at a cost of 314 million dollars.

Haslam Sports Group also owns the NFL’s Cleveland Browns and holds a controlling stake in the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks.
