Eduardo Perez returns to Liga 1 as head coach

Eduardo Perez — former Indonesia national team assistant coach — is set to begin a new chapter as head coach in Liga 1 after seven years away from Indonesian football.

The UEFA Pro licensed coach has a long history in Indonesia — starting as Luis Milla’s assistant with the national team during 2017 to 2018 period.

After parting ways with the national team, Perez chose to stay in Indonesia by joining Persija Jakarta as assistant coach in 2019. A year later, he got the opportunity to lead PSS Sleman — but had to resign before the competition started due to internal issues.

Perez’s decision to return to Liga 1 draws attention — considering his former colleague Milla is still active in this competition as Persib Bandung’s coach since 2022/23 season.
