Edu Gaspar appointed as Nottingham Forest’s global head of football

Nottingham Forest has announced the appointment of Edu Gaspar — former Arsenal sporting director — as their new global head of football.

The Midlands club has confirmed that Edu will be responsible for all football aspects — from recruitment, performance, squad strategy, to player development.

This appointment represents a statement of ambition for the club as they prepare for their first European season in 30 years. Edu resigned from Arsenal about eight months ago after five years there, where he played a crucial role in appointing Mikel Arteta and helping the North London club become serious title contenders.

“I’m truly excited about this new chapter and honored by the trust placed in me,” stated Edu. “This project connects deeply with my values around innovation and long-term planning.”

Jason Ayto served as Edu’s interim replacement at Arsenal before Andrea Berta was permanently appointed this summer.
