Dutch coaches dominate Indonesian League 1 in 2025/2026 season

Indonesian League 1 2025/2026 sets a new record with four Dutch coaches — making the Netherlands the largest contributor of tacticians in Indonesia’s top competition.

The four Dutch coaches are:

• Jan Olde Riekerink (Dewa United)
• Peter de Roo (Persis Solo)
• Jean-Paul van Gastel (PSIM Yogyakarta)
• Johnny Jansen (Bali United)

Jan Olde Riekerink — who joined Dewa United in early 2023 — stands as the most senior figure among Dutch coaches. The former Ajax Amsterdam junior coach led the team nicknamed Si Anak Dewa to a fifth-place finish in League 1 last season.
