DRX Flashback Steps Down from the Starting Roster

DRX’s young ace, Cho “Flashback” Min-hyuk, has officially withdrawn from the VCT Pacific 2025: Stage 1 roster, leaving the team’s starting lineup to compete in Valorant’s tier-two circuit.

In a statement posted on its official social media, DRX announced an agreement to release Flashback from its main roster, with the 19-year-old player immediately joining DRX Academy. The organization did not disclose specific reasons for the decision.

“After careful consideration and discussions, it has been mutually agreed that Min-hyuk “Flashback” Cho will be stepping down from DRX’s starting roster and transition to the DRX Academy roster. DRX will continue to support Flashback as he continues his growth as a player alongside the organization,” the statement read.

This is not the first time Flashback has abruptly stepped away from DRX’s main squad during a critical competitive period. In February 2024, he temporarily withdrew from VCT Pacific: Stage 1 to address personal matters, only to return in Stage 2 with a markedly improved performance.

Flashback’s departure poses a significant challenge for DRX as they prepare for their upcoming playoff clash against Boom Esports, a team feared for its undefeated group-stage run. With Boom’s dominance fresh in the minds of competitors, DRX now faces heightened pressure to optimize its roster without its top duelist.
