Dota 2 Patch 7.39: New High Risk Mechanics

Valve has released the Dota 2 Patch 7.39, titled Spring Shake Update, that introducing major changes to the map, gameplay mechanics, neutral items, heroes, and performance optimizations for players using older hardware.

Notably, the map adjustments are expected to shake up the current meta, which has long revolved around specific objectives. These changes promise more dynamic competitive play, forcing players to adapt their strategies for team fights in 7.39.

 Map & mechanics updates

• • Radiant Safe Lane: Pull camp positions have been moved, and trees rearranged to create a fresh dynamic during the laning phase.
  • Tormentor & Roshan: Tormentor now spawns later (minute 20) with weaker defenses, while Roshan’s abilities are more threatening, featuring longer stun durations and a new dispel effect.
  • Health System: The Vampirism Amplification mechanic is replaced with Health Restoration, revamping lifesteal and regeneration mechanics.

Neutral items

1. • New Additions: Dormant Curio, Kobold Cup and Chipped Vest join the neutral item pool. Older items have been rebalanced or moved between tiers.

   • High-Risk Rewards: Top-tier items like Divine Regalia and Giant’s Maul offer powerful bonuses with trade-offs. (e.g Divine Regalia now gives massive damage boost but -25% status resistance)

 Hero adjustments

• • Invoker: Overhauled core abilities and upgrade system for a more dynamic playstyle.

  • Kez & Batrider: Kez receives significant nerfs, while Batrider is rebalanced for better early-to-late game scaling.

  • Others: Multiple heroes now have updated Aghanim’s Scepter upgrades to diversify strategies.

Other improvements

• • Ping wheel: Now displays hero icons for clearer team coordination.

  • Team item menu: Streamlines purchasing key items (e.g., Gem, Smoke) to avoid duplicates.

  • Performance adjustment: Graphic optimizations ensure smoother gameplay on older devices.
