Dortmund confirms Jamie Bynoe-Gittens move to Chelsea for fantastic fee

Borussia Dortmund has confirmed the transfer agreement of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens to Chelsea, as announced through the club’s official website.

The transfer fee for the 20-year-old player reaches £48.5 million with additional £3.5 million in bonuses — after Chelsea’s initial £30 million offer was rejected by Die Borussen.

Both clubs are currently in Florida for the 2025 Club World Cup — where they are finalizing the player’s contract details.

Bynoe-Gittens is being brought in to fill Chelsea’s vacant left wing position after:

  • Mykhailo Mudryk received doping case sanctions
  • Jadon Sancho returned to Manchester United after loan spell

Despite the transfer nearing completion, Bynoe-Gittens won’t be able to represent Chelsea in the 2025 Club World Cup — as he’s already registered as a Borussia Dortmund player for the tournament.
