The Italian national team experienced an embarrassing moment during their away match against Germany in the UEFA Nations League 2024-2025 quarter-final second leg at Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund.

Die Mannschaft—who initially led 3-0 in the first half—eventually drew 3-3 with Gli Azzurri. The hosts’ opening goal came from the penalty spot through captain Joshua Kimmich.

A surprising incident occurred before Germany‘s second goal—after Gianluigi Donnarumma made a brilliant save from Tim Kleindienst‘s header, Die Mannschaft earned a corner kick. Kimmich quickly took the corner and passed to Jamal Musiala, who immediately scored—while the Italian keeper was still busy protesting outside the penalty box.
