Donnarumma blunder leads to PSG defeat against Botafogo in Club World Cup

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) suffered a surprising 0-1 defeat to Botafogo in Group B of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup held at the Rose Bowl.

A blunder by Gianluigi Donnarumma — PSG’s primary goalkeeper — proved to be the main factor in the French team’s loss on Thursday night.

The lone goal from Igor Jesus prevented PSG from securing their spot in the round of 16 — despite only needing one victory to advance to the next phase.

Although PSG dominated the match from the start, Luis Enrique’s side must now settle for second place in the standings with three points. Meanwhile, Botafogo leads the group with six points.
