Doni Tri Nearly Scores, Dethan and Raven Fail One-Two Attempt

Jakarta, July 21, 2025 – Indonesia U-23 came close to scoring just before halftime in their match against Malaysia U-23 at the 2025 AFF U-23 Championship. In the 45+4 minute, Doni Tri Pamungkas received a ball inside the penalty box and quickly attempted a right-footed volley.

His shot, however, missed to the left side of the goal, failing to give Indonesia the lead in the dying seconds of the first half.

Earlier, another attacking sequence down the left flank also ended in disappointment. Victor Dethan managed to dribble past a Malaysian defender and attempted a one-two pass with Jens Raven. Unfortunately, Raven was not in a good position to receive the return ball, and the move broke down.

These moments highlighted Indonesia’s attacking intent and control, although final execution in the box remains a point of concern heading into the second half.
