Doni Haryono’s Shoulder Injury Clouds SEA V League 2025 Opener

The Indonesian national volleyball team faces an unfavorable situation ahead of their SEA V League 2025 opening match — star spiker Doni Haryono is experiencing shoulder problems.

Indonesia’s squad, which has registered 14 players for the tournament’s first leg, will face Thailand at Candon City Arena, Philippines. Although Doni Haryono‘s condition previously showed positive development, the Magelang-born player has not fully recovered.

Assistant coach of Indonesia’s national volleyball team, Erwin Rusni, provided information regarding his player’s condition:

“All players are ready for battle. Only Doni has a shoulder injury, he might not play. If he does play, he might only play in the back and cannot attack.”

The absence of Doni Haryono as the main attacking player — or his possible limited role as a receive specialist — presents a unique challenge for the Indonesian team as they begin this tournament.
