Riot Games has removed French esports organization DVM from the VCT Challengers 2025 France: Revolution Stage 2 after violent clashes erupted between their fans and rival supporters during a live match—marking the first instance of fan-related violence in Valorant esports history.

The incident unfolded on April 9 at the Evry Courcouronnes arena when DVM was scheduled to play against Joblife. Via Ensigame, amateur footage circulating online reveals that tensions ignited when a group of DVM supporters began provoking Joblife fans in the audience.

The situation escalated rapidly, culminating in a physical assault on a spectator. Security teams and local police swiftly intervened, ejecting the aggressors and restoring order.

In an official statement, tournament organizer Webedia announced the cancellation of the DVM vs. Joblife match and banned their supporters from the venue. They reinforced the decision by disqualifying DVM for the remainder of Stage 2, stating:

“The league will never tolerate such behaviour, which is completely incompatible with the values of esports. We apologise to the fans who travelled to attend this event.”

“Considering the incidents that occured during the Challengers Day on April 8th and the involvement of DVM, we have decided to exclude the organization from the remainder of Segment 2 of the Challengers League France.”

DVM’s ownership denied allegations that their fans instigated the provocation, condemning the violence. The Valorant community, however, expressed sympathy for DVM’s roster, whose competitive future is now in limbo due to the disciplinary action.

The incident has shocked the esports community, especially given Valorant’s reputation for fostering camaraderie at live events. While online toxicity remains a challenge, offline gatherings have historically been characterized by friendly rivalries—making this clash a jarring anomaly.
