Dion Markx, Indonesian national team defender, reached a significant milestone in his career — making his professional debut with TOP Oss in Eerste Divisie, the Dutch second-tier competition, as reported by Brabants Dagblad.

The 19-year-old Nijmegen-born player got his chance to start when TOP Oss faced AZ Alkmaar II at AFAS Trainingscomplex, Wijdewormer — an opportunity that arose due to injuries suffered by several of the team’s main defenders.

Jules van Bost, Leonel Miguel, and Calvin Mac-Intosh were among those affected, opening the door for Markx to step into the starting lineup.

“Since I was eight years old, I have been working for this moment,” expressed Markx after the match.

Markx’s debut represents a major achievement for the young defender, marking the beginning of what could be a promising career in European football. His performance in this match could provide the foundation for further opportunities with TOP Oss and beyond, as he continues to develop and gain experience in the competitive Dutch football system.
