Diogo Moreira claims maiden Moto2 victory in dramatic Dutch GP

Diogo Moreira of Italtrans Racing Team marked a historic moment — claiming his maiden victory in Dutch Moto2 at Assen Circuit on Sunday (29/6).

Pole position holder Aron Canet from Fantic Lono Sonego — who dominated braking throughout 22 laps — had to settle for second place after being overtaken in the final two laps. Gonzalez completed the podium in third position despite a poor start.

The race at the Dutch track was marked by several incidents:

• Nakarin Atiratphuvapat, replacement for Mario Aji at Honda Team Asia, crashed
• Yuki Kunii from Honda Team Asia also suffered an accident
• Total of 10 riders failed to finish the race due to crashes at various corners
