Calvin Verdonk will work under a new head coach at NEC Nijmegen next season as the Dutch club officially announced the appointment of Dick Schreuder. He replaces Rogier Meijer, who will step down at the end of the 2024/2025 season.

The 53-year-old tactician has signed a three-year contract with NEC after successful stints with PEC Zwolle and CD Castellón, where he became known for combining results with entertaining football.

NEC Technical Director Carlos Aalbers shared insights into the club’s decision:

“After Rogier Meijer’s departure was confirmed, Dick became one of our top candidates from the start. He has proven his ability to blend attractive football with strong results. We’re pleased he believes in our vision and wants to grow with NEC.”

The arrival of Dick Schreuder marks a new chapter for Calvin Verdonk and the NEC squad as they prepare for a more competitive Eredivisie season ahead.
