Dewa United Secure AFC Challenge League Ticket after Defeating PSBS Biak

Dewa United have officially secured a place in the 2025 AFC Challenge League after a convincing victory over PSBS Biak in their final Liga 1 2024/25 fixture.

The match, held at their home stadium, saw head coach Jan Olde Riekerink field a full-strength lineup, while PSBS Biak rotated their squad with several reserves, including young goalkeeper Pualam Bahari and defender Sukandar Kansai.

Early Goal Sets the Tone

Alex Martins broke the deadlock in the 9th minute with a calm finish, tapping in a low cross from Taisei Marukawa to give the home side an early lead. Dewa United maintained control for the remainder of the match, showing dominance in both possession and chances created.

Indonesian Representatives for Asian Stage

The win confirms Dewa United as Liga 1 runners-up, joining Persib Bandung — the league champions — as Indonesia’s representatives in the upcoming AFC Challenge League. This marks a historic achievement for the Tangerang-based club, which has grown significantly under Riekerink’s leadership.
