Denis Azzarya defeats third seed from Thailand at Asian Junior Championships

Indonesian badminton athlete Denis Azzarya created a major upset in the round of 16 at the Asian Junior Championships 2025 at GOR Indoor Manahan, Solo — defeating third seed from Thailand, Patcharakit Apiratchataset.

The 17-year-old player demonstrated champion mentality by recovering after losing the opening game — managing to turn the tide while under intense pressure.

Despite being ranked third in BWF junior rankings, Apiratchataset was helpless against Denis’s aggressive play that limited his opponent to single digits in the deciding game.
