Dembele to Miss PSG’s Opening FIFA Club World Cup Match Against Atletico Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has confirmed that Ousmane Dembele will miss the opening match of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup against Atletico Madrid — the French player is suffering from a hamstring injury.

Despite being included in the squad traveling to the United States, the injury condition forces Dembele to sit out the opening fixture — this comes as a major setback for PSG.

Dembele’s brilliant performance last season contributed significantly to PSG’s quadruple success, including the French League and Champions League — the natural right-winger recorded 33 goals from 49 appearances across all competitions.

An interesting note from these statistics — Dembele managed to score 20 goals while playing as a center forward in 24 matches, despite his natural position being on the right wing.
