Deco Reveals Nico Williams’ Strong Desire to Join Barcelona

According to La Vanguardia, sporting director Deco revealed that Athletic Club winger Nico Williams is showing strong desire to join Barcelona.

A meeting between Barcelona and Williams’ agent, Felix Tainta took place last week — discussing the potential transfer of the 22-year-old player to Camp Nou.

“We need to strengthen this position. For wingers, we only have Lamine and Raphinha. From there, several names are emerging and everything will depend on price and quality,” said Deco.

“Nico is showing strong desire to join… And if the conditions are right, we will definitely try to complete this deal”

Barcelona previously failed to sign the Spanish national team star last summer due to LaLiga registration issues. Now, the player with a €58 million release clause is on the Catalan club’s main target list alongside several names including Luis Díaz, Marcus Rashford, and Ivan Perišić.
