Declan Rice defends Noni Madueke from Arsenal fans’ criticism

Declan Rice has expressed his disapproval of social media backlash regarding Noni Madueke’s arrival at Arsenal. The 23-year-old joined from Chelsea in a transfer worth up to £52 million.

Madueke’s move sparked controversy — supporters created a petition against his signing and vandalized murals at Emirates Stadium with “Arteta Out” graffiti. The hashtag #NoToMadueke also gained traction on platform X.

“I didn’t like it, speaking honestly,” Rice stated. “I know how driven he is. I’ve spoken to him and you’re going to see what he’s about this season.”

Rice demonstrated his support by writing a welcome letter for Madueke. The two developed friendship during their time with the England national team.

Despite recording 13 goals and 5 assists in 67 Premier League appearances, Madueke boasts impressive statistics — he ranked highest for average ball carries leading to shots per match last season.
