Dean Huijsen receives only one-match ban in Club World Cup

FIFA has confirmed that Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen — will only serve a one-match suspension in the 2025 Club World Cup.

The Spanish defender received a straight red card in the match against Borussia Dortmund — after committing a foul against Serhou Guirassy in the forbidden area.

The incident occurred when Huijsen pulled Guirassy’s jersey while in a goalscoring position — resulting in the referee awarding a penalty to Dortmund and showing a straight red card.

This FIFA decision opens the possibility for Huijsen to return for the final — if Real Madrid manages to defeat Paris Saint-Germain in tomorrow’s semifinal.
