David Beckham Receives Knighthood from King Charles

David Beckham – Manchester United and England football legend – has been awarded a knighthood in King Charles’ Birthday Honours list for his services to sport and charitable activities.

The Inter Miami co-owner has served as a UNICEF ambassador for two decades and recently joined as an ambassador for The King’s Foundation – marking his highest achievement in his off-field career.

“Playing for and captaining my country was the greatest privilege of my career and literally a boyhood dream come true,” stated Beckham in his announcement.

The former England captain recorded 115 appearances – with captain status in 59 matches – and remains the only English player to score in three different World Cups.

Prior to this honor, Beckham was nominated for knighthood in 2011 but unsuccessful – a long wait that finally ends with Britain’s highest recognition.

In the same honors list, several other athletes received awards – including darts players Luke Littler and Luke Humphries receiving MBEs, and former England international Rachel Daly who retired last year.
