David Beckham finally receives knighthood from King Charles

David Beckham has been awarded a knighthood in King Charles’ Birthday Honours list — recognizing his contributions to sports and charitable activities.

The Inter Miami co-owner has served as a UNICEF ambassador for two decades and recently joined as an ambassador for The King’s Foundation.

“Playing for and captaining my country was the greatest privilege of my career and a childhood dream come true,” Beckham stated in his response.

The former player, who received an OBE about 22 years ago, earned 115 caps for England — becoming the only English player to score in three different World Cups.

His club achievements include six Premier League titles with Manchester United, followed by distinguished spells at Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan, and Paris Saint-Germain.

The honors list also recognized several other athletes:

  • Luke Littler and Luke Humphries – MBEs for contributions to darts
  • Rachel Daly – MBE for England national team service
  • Alistair Brownlee – OBE for triathlon achievements
  • Virginia Wade – CBE for tennis contributions
