Danish Club Refuses to Release Nicholas Mickelson for ASEAN All-Stars

According to Thairath, Danish club Odense Boldklub has refused to release Thai national team player Nicholas Mickelson to join the ASEAN All-Stars for their upcoming friendly match against Manchester United.

The exhibition game is set to take place at Bukit Jalil Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, on May 28, 2025.

Earlier, the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) had sent a letter to the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), requesting the release of three players:

• Patiwat Kahmmai

• Peeradon Chamratsamee

• Nicholas Mickelson

However, Thairath reports that Odense Boldklub has rejected the opportunity to release Nicholas Mickelson for the ASEAN All-Stars match against Manchester United.

The Danish club’s decision stems from the fact that this match is not an official FIFA fixture, meaning it does not fall under FIFA’s player release regulations. Despite this, the event remains a significant one for Southeast Asian football, providing a major platform for players to showcase their talents on the global stage.
