Daniil Medvedev Makes History with 400th ATP Win After Beating Halys in Halle Open 2025

Daniil Medvedev reached a historic milestone at the 2025 Halle Open, securing his 400th career victory on the ATP Tour with a commanding 6-2, 7-5 win over Quentin Halys on Wednesday.

The former Halle finalist, currently ranked world No. 11, delivered a dominant performance to book his spot in the quarter-finals of the ATP 500 event in Germany. Medvedev needed just over an hour to dispatch the Frenchman, showcasing his trademark precision and tactical discipline.

400 Wins: A Rare Feat Among Active Players

With this result, Medvedev becomes the tenth active player to reach 400 career wins at the ATP level. He also joins Grigor Dimitrov and Alexander Zverev as only the third player born in the 1990s to achieve this milestone — a testament to his consistency and staying power on the tour.

Throughout the match, Medvedev was nearly untouchable on serve. He dropped just eight points across ten service games and didn’t face a single break point. On the return, he applied constant pressure, earning multiple break chances and converting three.

The Russian’s control was evident from the start. He held three of his first four service games to love in the opening set and broke Halys twice to take it 6-2. Though Halys raised his level in the second set, Medvedev stayed composed, securing a decisive break in the 11th game before closing the match with a flawless hold.

Medvedev struck 22 winners and committed just six unforced errors — a stat line that speaks to his efficiency and form heading into the deeper stages of the tournament.

Quarter-Final Test Ahead

Up next, Medvedev will face either Stefanos Tsitsipas or rising American Alex Michelsen in the quarter-finals — a matchup that promises another exciting chapter in his grass-court season.

As Wimbledon 2025 approaches, Medvedev’s performance in Halle sends a clear signal: he remains a serious contender for his second Grand Slam title and continues to build one of the most consistent careers of his generation.
