Daniel Suarez ready for historic NASCAR race in Mexico

Daniel Suarez — the Monterrey-born driver who made history as the only Mexican champion of NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2016 — will be in the spotlight this weekend as NASCAR Cup Series holds its inaugural race at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

The Trackhouse Racing Team driver has achieved remarkable success — becoming the only Mexican-born driver to win Cup Series races at Sonoma about three years ago and Atlanta in early 2024.

“This is the helmet I will be wearing for the NASCAR Mexico City weekend! A very special helmet designed by the great Mexican artist and friend Latapi Jorge. This helmet represents my culture, my country, and the warrior that is within all of us. It is a huge honor for me to be Mexican and be able to represent my home country and my fellow Mexicans,” Suarez shared on social media.

Besides competing in Cup Series, Suarez will also participate in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race with JR Motorsports team. Two other Mexican drivers who will compete in Xfinity class:

  • Andres Perez De Lara
  • Ruben Rovelo
