Daniel Marthin receives BWF ranking protection during injury recovery

According to PBSI’s official statement, the Badminton World Federation (BWF) has approved ranking protection for Daniel Marthin who suffered a left knee injury during the 2025 Sudirman Cup.

PBSI’s Head of Foreign Relations, Bambang Roedyanto confirmed — Daniel’s world ranking points of 64,185 will be protected from May 16, 2025.

“This ranking point protection means Daniel cannot compete for three months until August 16, 2025,” said Bambang.

During Daniel Marthin’s recovery period, PBSI has prepared a new strategy — Muhammad Shohibul Fikri will be paired with Fajar Alfian who also lost his regular partner, Muhammad Rian Ardianto who is on family leave.
