Daniel Levy reveals emotional reasons behind Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy acknowledged that the decision to dismiss manager Ange Postecoglou — was emotionally challenging.

“I’m very grateful to Ange. I don’t regret appointing him. This was a collective decision, not my decision. Emotionally it was difficult, but we believe we have made the right decision for the club,” stated Levy.

Despite leading Spurs to their first Europa League trophy in 17 years by defeating Manchester United — poor Premier League performance with 22 defeats left the team struggling near the relegation zone.

As his replacement, Tottenham has appointed former Brentford manager Thomas Frank. The club’s new Chief Executive, Vinai Venkatesham, explained the rigorous selection process that analyzed over 30 candidates before choosing Frank as the primary candidate.

“Thomas was absolutely the number one candidate. One of the things I’m excited about is his outstanding ability to develop young players,” added Venkatesham.
