Garrett Mitchell, better known by his stage name Cleetus McFarland — a YouTuber with 4.26 million subscribers — received a privileged opportunity to learn directly from NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. in preparation for the ARCA race at Talladega.

Earnhardt Jr — a six-time Talladega winner — shared valuable insights during a 26-minute track tour. They covered various technical aspects — from qualification techniques to challenges in the tri-oval area.

While discussing qualifying, Mitchell was surprised to learn about the finish line’s different location compared to Daytona. Earnhardt Jr was equally shocked to discover ARCA still uses group qualifying.

“Really, they don’t do single-car runs?” asked Earnhardt. “Oh my gosh.”

Earnhardt Jr explained crucial track details — including the banking differences in the lower frontstretch that could cause cars to lose control. He also provided tips for pit stops under green flag conditions.

“My goal is to finish the race, number one,” said Mitchell. “And two, if I can work my way up, obviously I want to win.”

Mitchell will make his Talladega debut driving the No. 30 Ford for Rette Jones Racing this Saturday.
