Czech Republic MotoGP returns after five-year absence

The Automotodrom Brno circuit — which has been part of the MotoGP championship since 1965 — will return to host racing this weekend as the 12th round of the 2025 season.

This historic track evolved from the Masaryk-ring road circuit to the permanent Automotodrom Brno facility in 1987 — however, it has been absent for the past five years due to deteriorating track conditions and financial constraints.

Marc Marquez has established himself as the most successful rider at this circuit with four victories — one in Moto2 (2012) and three in the premier MotoGP class (2013, 2017, 2019). Meanwhile, Brad Binder became the last winner at Brno when the final race was held in 2020.

“I managed to lead from start to finish,” recalled Marquez about his last victory at Brno.
