Cruel draw for Indonesian representatives at 2025 Asian Championships

According to the draw released by Bolasport.com, Indonesian representatives face tough challenges at the 2025 Asian Championships, which will take place at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium, China on April 8-13.

A total of 19 Indonesian representatives — are ready to battle against formidable opponents from the opening round. In men’s singles, second-seeded Jonatan Christie must face Koki Watanabe — a Japanese player who has shown significant performance improvement.

Alwi Farhan — the 2023 junior world champion replacing Anthony Sinisuka Ginting — faces a stern test against Weng Hong Yang. The left-handed Chinese player nicknamed Lin Dan’s successor recently won the 2025 Swiss Open.

The challenge is no lighter in the women’s singles sector which sends four representatives — where they must face high-quality opponents from the start of the tournament.
