Cristiano Ronaldo mourns Diogo Jota’s tragic death in car accident

Diogo Jota, Liverpool’s 28-year-old striker, died in a tragic car accident on the A-52 highway near Cernadilla, Zamora, Spain — the incident also claimed the life of his brother, Andre.

His Portugal national team teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo, expressed his sorrow through an Instagram post after hearing the shocking news.

“We were just together in the national team, you had just gotten married,” wrote the Al Nassr player who considered Jota’s passing “unbelievable”.

Jota’s sudden departure occurred just ten days after his wedding to Rute Cardoso — a joyous occasion celebrated on June 22. Previously, the striker with 49 caps and 14 goals for Portugal had just led his country to UEFA Nations League victory over Spain in the final in early June.
