Cristian Chivu Appointed New Inter Milan Coach

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Cristian Chivu has officially been appointed as the new coach of Inter Milan on Monday (9 June 2025) — signing a contract until June 2027.

The former legendary Inter Milan and Romanian national team defender became the club’s top choice after parting ways with Simone Inzaghi. Initially, the club under Giuseppe Marotta’s leadership targeted Cesc Fabregas, but that plan fell through as the Como coach decided to stay.

We didn’t have a chance with Fabregas, so we moved on to Chivu,” revealed Marotta.

The 44-year-old coach was selected as the best candidate alongside Patrick Vieira, but the final decision went to Chivu ahead of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
