Courtois impressed by Alexander-Arnold’s crossing ability at Real Madrid

Thibaut Courtois has expressed his admiration for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s crossing ability which he considers to be on another level — a quality that forces the Real Madrid goalkeeper to work extra hard during training sessions.

The English defender recorded his first assist for Los Blancos by delivering a perfect cross to Gonzalo García in the 1-0 victory against Juventus at the Club World Cup.

“His striking ability is incredible in training, his free-kicks and corners are on another level. I haven’t seen anyone with his quality of striking and crossing,” said Courtois.

Alexander-Arnold, who joined from Liverpool before the tournament in the United States, has played in all of Madrid’s matches — both as a right-back and midfielder.

Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund in the Club World Cup quarter-finals in New Jersey. García, who has scored three goals in four matches, has earned trust replacing Kylian Mbappé while recovering from gastroenteritis.

“This is a lifetime opportunity and I plan to give 200% to make the most of it,” García told DAZN.
