Contract Uncertainty Doesn’t Stop Pearly Tan/Thinaah’s Olympic 2028 Focus

Malaysian women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan continue to face contract uncertainty with the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), according to The Star.

Despite their contract expiring last December — national women’s doubles head coach Rosman emphasizes that the main focus remains on preparation for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The world number 4 pair has shown impressive performance in recent tournaments:

  • Thailand Open 2025 champions
  • Malaysia Masters semifinalists
  • Singapore Open quarterfinalists
  • Indonesia Open finalists

“The goal remains LA28. That’s why BAM brought me in. I remain committed to that goal,” states Rosman.

The coach acknowledges that social media coverage about contract issues presents its own challenge — but he remains committed to helping his athletes manage pressure and focus on preparation.
