Prediksi Kolombia vs Peru di Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 (07.06.2025)

In the early hours of Saturday, June 7 at 03:30 WIB, the Colombia national football team will host Peru at the Estadio Metropolitano Roberto Meléndez in Barranquilla for Matchday 15 of the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. The home side has collected 20 points and sits comfortably in the top six, five points ahead of Venezuela in seventh place. The visitors, meanwhile, have only ten points and slim chances of catching up with Venezuela in the remaining four games.

Given this position in the standings, it’s no surprise that bookmakers heavily favor the home team in the Colombia vs Peru matchup. A bet on the “Coffee Growers” to win is set at odds of 1.40, a draw at 4.60, and a Peru victory at 9.70. The over 2.5 total goals market is priced at 2.16, indicating that experts aren’t expecting a particularly high-scoring affair. Bets for both teams to score are offered at 2.55.

Colombia

Néstor Lorenzo coaches one of the strongest national teams in South America. The team won bronze at the continental cup in 2016 and 2021, and secured silver medals in 2024. With players like Luis Díaz from Liverpool, Jhon Lucumí from Bologna, and Daniel Muñoz from Crystal Palace, the squad has what it takes to achieve solid results. It is therefore somewhat surprising that the “Coffee Growers” are only in sixth place in the current qualifying campaign. The team has lost three of its last four matches. Only in the previous round did they finally manage to secure a point, drawing 2-2 at home against Paraguay.

Peru

Óscar Ibáñez took charge of the team in February this year. Under his guidance, Peru defeated Bolivia 3-1 at home but lost 0-1 away to Venezuela. At the moment, the “White and Reds” are the lowest-scoring team in the qualifiers, with only six goals in 14 matches. Given that three of those goals came in a single match against Bolivia, it’s hard to tell what the “Incas” were doing in the other games. To be fair, this generation of Peruvian players lacks standout talents, so fans aren’t expecting much in terms of major achievements.

Statistics and Head-to-Head

Since 2021, the teams have faced each other five times, with each side earning two wins. In the first round of the current 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Prediction

Colombia desperately needs a win. They need to bounce back in front of their home fans after a string of disappointing results. Peru, meanwhile, will likely defend with everything they’ve got. In such a scenario, betting on Colombia with a -2.5 corner handicap at odds of 1.77 might be a smart move.
