Cole Palmer to Wear Chelsea Number 10 after Mudryk Doping Case

Chelsea have officially confirmed that Cole Palmer will don the number 10 jersey, previously worn by Mykhailo Mudryk, who is currently under investigation following a doping case.

The jersey change will take effect at the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, where Chelsea are set to face Los Angeles FC in their opening match on June 16 in Atlanta.

Performance Matters: Palmer vs Mudryk

Since making the switch from Manchester City, Palmer has netted 37 Premier League goals, cementing his status as one of Chelsea’s key assets.

In contrast, Mudryk, who arrived in a high-profile €100 million deal, has only scored five league goals, leaving fans and pundits questioning his contribution.

Mudryk’s Absence Amid Controversy

Mudryk has not featured for Chelsea since he tested positive for meldonium last December. The 24-year-old winger was last seen at the Conference League Final in Poland, posing with Enzo Fernández and wearing a winner’s medal.

Despite the controversy, Mudryk continues to deny any wrongdoing.

Awaiting Official Updates

As of now, Chelsea and the English Football Association (FA) have not released any formal updates regarding the doping case.
