According to Bolasport.com, top Chinese men’s doubles player He Ji Ting is facing serious allegations that have rocked the badminton world — including involvement in gambling, match-fixing, and internal team conflicts.

Together with his partner Ren Xiang Yu, He Ji Ting has officially withdrawn from the 2025 Asian Championships, just weeks after their standout performance reaching the semifinals of All England 2025. The pair is currently ranked No. 5 in the world.

The scandal broke out on Chinese social media platform Weibo, where users accused He Ji Ting of:

  • Participating in football gambling
  • Fixing the outcomes of his own matches
  • Making negative remarks about his teammates

The explosive nature of the allegations prompted a swift response from the China Badminton Association (CBA). Chairman Zhang Jun held an emergency press conference in Beijing, joined by CBA board members and regional officials, to address the controversy and reaffirm the organization’s commitment to ethical conduct and transparency in professional badminton.

This incident has sent shockwaves through the badminton community, raising concerns about athlete integrity ahead of major international events, including the 2025 Thomas & Uber Cup and the Paris Olympics.
