China withdraws from US Open 2025, Chen Yu Fei and Jiang Zhen Bang won’t compete

According to Bolasport.com, China’s contingent has made a surprising decision to withdraw all its representatives from the US Open 2025 — a BWF World Tour Super 300 event set to take place at the Mid-America Center, Council Bluffs, Iowa.

The tournament, offering a total prize of 240,000 US dollars, will miss several Chinese elite players — including Olympic gold medalist Chen Yu Fei and world number two in mixed doubles Jiang Zhen Bang.

Jiang Zhen Bang was supposed to start a new collaboration with Huang Ke Xin — a talented World Junior Championship finalist. This partnership was projected as part of the Chinese Badminton Association’s efforts to build new strength in mixed doubles following the retirement of Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong.

Meanwhile, Chen Yu Fei, who according to Aiyuke reports had planned to use this tournament to improve her ranking — now must change her strategy.
