Mixed doubles pair Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping opened China’s account with a straight-games victory over Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, winning 21-17, 21-17.

Feng/Huang asserted their dominance early in the match — leading 4-2 and then 7-4 in the first game. China’s advantage grew to 8-5 after Toh Ee Wei made a net error.

The aggressive play of Feng Yan Zhe, marked by sharp smashes, put the Malaysian duo under pressure — with the five-point lead sustained until 15-10, before China sealed the game and match.
