Prediksi Chile vs Argentina di Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026 (06.06.2025)

On Friday, June 6 at 08:00 WIB, at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago, the Chilean national football team will host Argentina in the 15th round of the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. The hosts are currently at the bottom of the table and only have hypothetical chances to fight for seventh place to reach the playoffs. The visitors, on the other hand, are at the top of the standings — leading confidently and have already secured a place in the World Cup.

Bookmakers are clear in their predictions for Chile vs Argentina: the visiting team is the firm favorite. Bets on a win for Chile are offered at odds of 5.65, a draw at 3.62, and a win for Argentina at 1.71. Experts do not expect a high-scoring game: the over 2.5 goals market is priced at 2.28. Bets on both teams to score are accepted at 2.15.

Chile

Ricardo Gareca is dealing with a generational transition crisis in Chilean football. Some of his players are nearing 40 years old — such as the once-star Arturo Vidal, now 38 and finishing his career at local club Colo-Colo. New talents are emerging, including 22-year-olds Lucas Cepeda from Colo-Colo, Alexander Aravena from Gremio, and Dario Osorio from Midtjylland. However, their level is significantly below that of their star predecessors. It seems Chilean fans will have to endure a few more years of their national team holding an underdog status on the continental stage.

Argentina

Lionel Scaloni, by contrast, manages a team at the peak — reigning World Cup and Copa América champions. Even without long-time leader and captain Lionel Messi, the Albiceleste can easily thrash Brazil 4–1. Argentina has such a deep and high-quality bench that they can afford not to call up players like Lautaro Martínez for the qualifiers.

Statistics and Head-to-Head

In the last three head-to-head meetings since 2022, Argentina has won every time. In the first round of the current qualification campaign, Albiceleste comfortably beat Chile 3–0 at home.

Prediction

Although Argentina no longer has anything at stake in the standings, Chile should at least show a fighting spirit in front of their home crowd. A good betting option would be Chile’s individual total corners over 3 at odds of 1.70.
